Paruxeche Village | Day 2
Most of the women and girls that attended the training were 11-21 years old. Some of them, had stopped going to school around the age of 10 or 14.
The talk we gave them was about menstruation, what is it and why do girls have it every month. With the talk, we had a giant drawing of a vagina to explain the parts of the female reproductive system and what is the process of the menstrual cycle. Then we explained the use of sanitary pads and what kind of hygiene was necessary to have a healthy vagina and a healthy period.
We also explained what is right and what is wrong in regards to our bodies. Plus, we emphasized on how awesome it is to be a woman. The day ended by giving every girl, and woman, a bag that included a pack of sanitary pads and a brochure that explained “How do I use a sanitary pad?”
