A UTI (Urinary Tract Infection) is an infection in any part of your urinary system (bladder, kidneys and urethra). UTIs are very common in women as we have a shorter urethra and bacteria can travel up to the kidneys and bladder easily. They can be contracted by wiping incorrectly and also through sexual intercourse. This is why you are supposed to pee soon after sex to eliminate any bacteria quickly. UTIs are accompanied by a burning feeling when you pee and also a constant urge to urinate even though very little or nothing is coming out. They can be treated by antibiotics prescribed by your doctor.
