Why do I get bloated when I'm on my period?

    It’s because during the month, there’s a variation of estrogen and progesterone (hormones). And these hormones cause you to retain fluids and swell, causing the feeling of bloating. Some women, do gain a couple of pounds before or during their periods because the retain so much water.

    you’re bloating because your body is retaining as much liquid it can, given that you are losing liquid during your flow. It is perfectly normal, 4 out of 10 women have to go through the same thing you do every month. LAME, right? But if you just exercise a lot during your time of the month, your body will sweat off the excess water. I also use a diuretic when I start pms-ing just to ensure that I wont become bloated later that week. Diurex works. Good luck!
