ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN GUATEMALA
Guatemalans are entrepreneurs. According to the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor in 2014-2015, Guatemala placed 10th on the top 10 entrepreneurial countries in the World. Guatemalans have a positive tendency to venture and create their own endeavors. Most of the time, it happens because of the lack of work opportunities, so they create their own businesses and embark on it alone.
At the same time, Guatemala places 13th on Early-Stage Entrepreneurial Activity, which makes it evident that Guatemalans have an interest to create value towards society. However, 97% of the endeavors fail before reaching the 3.5 year mark.
Therefore, it is necessary to teach tools that will aid them in optimizing their processes, manage resources better, take advantage of social media, and use their networks efficiently and properly to reach a wider audience.
